COMMITTEE D-35 ON GEOSYNTHETICS

The products that fall within the scope of the Committee are identified (geotextiles, geomembranes, prefabricated structural drains, geocomposite edge drains, geogrids, etc), and the work of the committee is reviewed. The latter involved establishing standard index property tests for geotextiles. The need for developing tests that allow for various conditions under which the material may be tested, while keeping the method standard, is discussed. The various uses of geosynthetics are noted, and future directions are briefly considered.
