MEDICAL COSTS OF MOTOR VEHICLE INJURIES IN THE U.S. - SOURCE OF PAYMENT

Attention is drawn to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report,"Source of Payment for the Medical Cost of Motor Vehicle Injuries in the United States." It identifies the major payers and amounts of medical care costs resulting from people hospitalized for injuries sustained in motor vehicle crashes in the Unted Sates. The report draws from data from 5 sample states (Arizona, Missouri, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington) for analysis of the three main source of payment categories: private insurance, government payers, and other payers.
