A DRIVER'S MOST DANGEROUS FOUR SECONDS

Driving through an intersection takes at least four seconds--your most vulnerable moments as a driver. This article explains how to survive them safely. Six steps are outlined that will reduce your risk of an intersection collision: (1) Prepare as you approach the intersection; (2) Look left - right - left; (3) Scan for pedestrians; (4) Time your entry into the intersection carefully; (5) Plan an escape route; and (6) Communicate with others.
