TESTS OF TRANSPORTATION POLICIES: THE "IMPACT" PROGRAMME
TESTS DE POLITIQUES DE TRANSPORT: LE PROGRAMME "IMPACT"
The growing complexity of travel problems in Ile-de-France has led to proposals for global management policies of the street network. To test these policies the RATP has developed a family of disaggregate models for traffic forecasting which are grouped in the "IMPACT" Programme. These are probabilistic models simulating individual behavior. IMPACT was first used at the request of the Syndicat des Transport Parisiens (governing body of public transport in the greater Paris area) to simulate the effects of road pricing for car drivers and of reserved lanes for buses.
