ANALYSIS OF CIRCULAR RC COLUMNS FOR SHORT- AND LONG-TERM DEFORMATIONS

The paper presents a method of analysis for both the short-term and time-dependent response of pine-ended slender RC (reinforced concrete) columns of circular cross-section. The short-term material behavior is assumed to be linear, but geometric nonlinearity is accounted for. Creep and shrinkage effects are modeled using the age-adjusted effective modulus method coupled with a relaxation procedure. The details of the study are described, and the results are discussed.
