LOGISTICS SERVICE: PROVIDERS' PERSPECTIVE. MARITIME TRANSPORTATION STRATEGIC PLANNING. PROCEEDINGS OF A TRB WORKSHOP, JUNE 5-7, 1991, WASHINGTON, D.C.

This workshop presentation discusses third party logistics from the providers' perspective. A case study is used to illustrate the fact that third-party logistics and strategic planning go hand in hand. The case study involves Fritz Companies, Inc., efforts in Kuwait where the entire infrastructure, including all files, all computers, all transportation systems, and all communications systems, has been destroyed, including all the equipment in the yard of Kuwait's two ports.
