WHO GETS CHARGED WITH MINIMUM DRINKING AGE OFFENCES? A TORONTO SAMPLE

The characteristics of young people charged with Minimum Legal Drinking Age (MLDA) offences in Toronto are described in this paper. The results show that (1) young people charged with MLDA offences were different from age-matched non-delinquent youth on such factors as attitudes and alcohol and drug use and (2) the experience of being charged and sentenced had little specific deterrent impact.
