COMMITMENT OR CONFLICT--SUPPLIERS SHARE THEIR OWN DESTINY IN THE 1990S

Article discussing the changes that developed in the U.S. automobile supplier industry during the the late 1970s and 1980s that led to the current need for a global perspective. Supplier customers need a strategy focused on a world-class supply base. This can only be achieved, says the author, by a mutual commitment to define and improve an organization at each commodity for each supplier. The development of this world-class vision is the essence of the interface between the suppliers and Traditional American Manufacturers (TAMs).
