This article presents a model to aid in the strategic management of the logistics function for firms with many product lines. The model demonstrates the steps necessary to strategically develop and manage the logistics function for product lines when it is justified to use the logistics function for such purposes. Throughout the article, an example isused to illustrate how to employ the proposed model.
