TRAINING FOR ROAD SAFETY ENGINEERS; THE MIDDLESEX POLYTECHNIC MASTERS' COURSE
Road safety engineering is playing an increasingly important part in the work of local authority highway engineering departments. There is an undisputed shortage of trained manpower to carry out the job, and in many cases the chief bottleneck affecting improving of road safety is not capital funds but staff. This note reviews training initiatives aimed at the management level and, ion particular, the Masters' course in Road Safety Engineering at Middlesex Polytechnic.
