A HANDBOOK FOR COORDINATING TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

This Handbook was developed to assist those interested in coordination activities associated with providing transportation services. It provides a step-by-step process for getting a coordination program started. The report is organized as follows. Chapter 1 is an introduction. Chapter 2 discusses what you need to know about coordination. Chapter 3 covers pre-implementation planning. Chapters 4, 5 and 6 discuss Level 1 - Cooperation, Level 2 - Joint Use Arrangements, and Level 3 - Consolidation, respectively. The final chapter, Chapter 7, covers implementation. The appendices provide a glossary of terms used in the Handbook and a list of additional resource materials.
