HP-GPC AND ASPHALT CHARACTERIZATION LITERATURE REVIEW

This is one of the reports that resulted from a literature review related to the project 'Performance Related Testing and Measuring of Asphalt-Aggregate Interactions and Mixtures.' The literature review attempted to collect information relative to chemical and physical properties of asphalt to field pavement performance, as defined by fatigue cracking, permanent deformation, thermal cracking, aging and water sensitvity. This report focuses on the use of High Pressure Gel Permeation Chromatography (HP-GPC) to characterize asphalt properties and the relationship of HP-GPC parameters to pavement performance.
