EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES FOR DOMINANT NOISE SOURCE IDENTIFICATION. FINAL REPORT

ENTWINCKLUNG EINER METHODE FUER DIE BESTIMMUNG VON GERAEUSCHQUELLEN. SCHLUSSBERICHT

The scope of the project was to develop a test and analysis technique that aims at the investigation of noise and vibration problems in a multisource environment. The method is able to analyse all sources simultanously in a real world situation without interfering with the normal build-up and function of the vehicle. Thus compared to classical methods, a more accurate description of the noise sources and the noise transmission paths can be obtained. The method is primarily based on multivariate statistical techniques and recent numerical methods. After an experimental verification of the technique the road noise of two vehicles and operational deflection modes of a convertible car body were treated.
