This proceedings addresses current issues pertaining to design and performance of airfield pavements as related to the pavement designer/builder/maintainer and the aircraft designer/builder/operator. These issues include such subjects as pavement construction materials, new pavement design methodologies, roughness effects on aircraft fatigue damage, traffic effects, environmental effects, and future pavement and gear design concerns. In addition, environmental factors such as frost effects, moisture changes, and temperature effects that cause pavement deterioration and impact serviceability must be part of the design considerations.
