PERFORMANCE OF JOINTED REINFORCED CONCRETE PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION IN MALAYSIA WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO JOHOR BAHRU - PONTIAN ROAD PACKAGE 1B. PROCEEDINGS, SIXTH CONFERENCE, ROAD ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION OF ASIA AND AUSTRALASIA, 4-10 MARCH 1990, KUALA LUMPUR, VOLUMES 1 TO 5 AND POST CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

This paper intends to discuss the influence of design criteria, methods of construction and contract specification on the performance of Jointed Reinforced Concrete Pavement (JRCP) as experienced in the implementation of Johore Bahru - Pontian Road Package 1B. It also highlights construction problems encountered, deficiencies of the specification and measures taken to overcome them. Some aspects of its performance parameters with evaluation tests and post-construction shortcomings with methods of rectification are presented.
