CHLORO ALUMINATE AND TOTAL CHLORIDE ION AMOUNTS IN CONCRETE EXPOSED TO NATURAL SEA WATER . DURABILITY OF BUILDING MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HELD IN BRIGHTON, NOVEMBER 7-9, 1990
The behaviour of different concrete samples semi-buried in an Atlantic beach in the south of Spain has been studied. In both tidal and buried zones, the total chloride ion content as a function of the penetration depth at the age of two years has been determined by means of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction has been employed to follow the evolution of the main crystalline phases. (Author/TRRL)
