LES SURFACES DE GLISSEMENT EN MECHANIQUE DES SOLS ET EN MECHANIQUE DES ROCHES

Strain localization with slip surfaces formation in soils and rocks is associated with progressive failure increasing with loading. These discontinuities modify continuous medium mechanic concepts, as they correspond to the movement of more or less rigid blocks bound by a material the mechanical properties of which are weakened by softening.
