GEOTEXTILES FOR EROSION CONTROL: CASE STUDIES. REINFORCED SOIL AND GEOTEXTILES, PROCEEDINGS OF THE GEOTEXTILES CONFERENCE HELD AT THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, BOMBAY, INDIA, DECEMBER 8-9, 1988

In this article, two case studies are presented illustrating two different methods of use of geotextiles for erosion control. The first method, using flexible geotextile mattress for forming concrete, has many advantages for lining perennial canals and river embankments under threat of erosion where conventional methods cannot be used. The other case study describes the use of combination of geotextile and geogrid for sea or river coast protection from wave action. For covering abstract of the conference, see IRRD 836241.
