SOIL BEAMS REINFORCED WITH GEOTEXTILES. REINFORCED SOIL AND GEOTEXTILES, PROCEEDINGS OF THE GEOTEXTILES CONFERENCE HELD AT THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, BOMBAY, INDIA, DECEMBER 8-9, 1988

The paper presents a study of soil behaviour under flexure due to the introduction of geotextile as reinforcement. Tests on beams of rectangular cross-section with varying amounts of reinforcement were performed. The results of the investigation relating to the types of failure, influence of geotextile as reinforcement, influence of the beam depth, and influence of the amount of reinforcement are reported in the paper. Reinforcements used are 100% polypropylene strips of varying widths and nylon tapes of one inch width. For covering abstract of the conference, see IRRD 836241. (TRRL)
