REINFORCED SOIL FOUNDATION ON SOFT SOIL. REINFORCED SOIL AND GEOTEXTILES, PROCEEDINGS OF THE GEOTEXTILES CONFERENCE HELD AT THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, BOMBAY, INDIA, DECEMBER 8-9, 1988
A simple method of analysis of a reinforced sand mattress on soft soil has been presented. This has been examined with model tests using locally available geotextile as a reinforcement. There is good agreement between the experimental and predicted values of the bearing capacity ratio. It has been observed that the improvement of load carrying capacity is up to about three times that of soft soil. For covering abstract of the conference, see IRRD 836241. (TRRL)
