VIBRO-ROLLER COMPACTED CONCRETE PAVEMENT. SELECTED PAPERS ON HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH 1989

The vibro-roller compacted concrete (VRCC) pavement is made of dry concrete with fly ash as admixture and compacted with vibrating rollers. This kind of pavement can improve the performance of concrete and save 30 percent amount of cement. This paper presents some results obtained from a series of experiments on properties of VRCC, including strength, elastic modulus, shrinkage, cracking resistance, wear resistance, permeability, freeze-thaw resistance, and carbonation. Some parameters of vibrating rollers used for VRCC pavement are specified. Rolling procedure and mechanism are also presented. (TRRL)
