ON THE PERFORMANCE OF SHANJIASI HEAVY OIL ASPHALT IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION. SELECTED PAPERS ON HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH 1989
This paper presents an evaluation of the properties of Shanjiasi heavy oil asphalt and its mixtures by testing in laboratory and on two experimental pavements. The asphalt is refined from Shanjiasi, Shengli oilfield and is characterized by its less wax content. It has good stability, ductility and viscosity at high temperature and has strong resistance to shrinkage and reflective cracks. Until now there have been very few home made asphalts suitable for high standard roads in China. Shanjiasi heavy oil asphalt may fill in this gap. (TRRL)
