THE THERMAL LOADING OF STRUCTURES . PROCEEDINGS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE SPECIAL SYMPOSIUM ON THE OCCASION OF GEORGE SVEDS 80TH BIRTHDAY, 1 JUNE 1990

This paper summarizes the work at the University of Adelaide over the last ten years to investigate the thermal loading of concrete structures by solar radiation. A fundamental methodology has been to bring together short term measurements of actual structures, a theoretical model and the long term records of the weather bureau. All aspects of the work are described here as they relate to both building structures and bridges. The result is a set of values of thermal loading suitable for design. (Author/TRRL)
