RIGHT-OF-WAY PLATS DEVELOPED ON COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN DRAFTING

Significant changes in the way right-of-way plats are prepared, particularly after the advent of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, are noted. The right-of-way plat must accurately document land acquisition limits and provide an historic record of their relationship with established government land monuments. Property owners and others are demanding highly graphic information. The CADD allows the meeting of this demand for greater detail and for significantly increased data on plats.
