RECIRCULATORY FLOW IN PERIPHERAL-JET SUPPORTS
A major object of the study is to derive a detailed analysis of the mixing process in a highly curved jet curtain and hence to obtain a more accurate estimate of the loss of cushion pressure due to jet mixing. A second objective is to determine the extent to which the cushion pressure is affected by the nature of the recirculative flow within the cushion. The report presents preliminary attempts to establish a suitable mixing theory for the jet curtain. ( Author )
