Computer analysis of past Israel accident data is an important part of the work at the Road Safety Centre. The system is based on an already written computer program: SPSS (statistical package for the social science nie). The user needs to come into contact with the system at only two points: making requests and receiving results. The requests are made in a special language which has English words and is very natural for a researcher. The results are clearly formatted and labelled so that interpretation is obvious. All of the technical details of obtaining this information from the computer are done automatically by the system. The system automatically retrieves the desired data and performs the data modifications. The data display is constructed automatically and results are printed. /TRRL/
