COMPOSITE REINFORCED CONCRETE BRIDGE DECK WITH MAIN PRESTRESSED BRIDGE GIRDERS

SPREZANJE ARMIRANOBETONSKE KOLOVOZNE PLOCE SA GLAVNIM PRETHODNO NAPREGNUTIM NOSACIMA MOSTA

This article presents the results of tests carried out on 3 1:3 scale models of reinforced concrete bridges in order to determine the degree of prestressing of the precast concrete bridge deck and main girders. The models are all defined according to the bridge span, 20 m wide. The first model represents a multibeam bridge with bridge deck cast in situ. The second and third model are the same as the first except that the bridge deck is prefabricated and prestressed with main girders by means of reinforced concrete box girders or by screws. The results confirm the advantages of using prefabricated reinforced concrete bridge deck prestressed with girders by means of box girders and screws. (TRRL)
