SOUTHEAST EQUIPMENT MANAGERS MEETING. PROCEEDINGS OF THE 8TH EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP, MAY 28-31, 1990, DES MOINES, IOWA

This is the report from the equipment managers meeting of the Southeastern states. Topics covered at the 1990 annual meeting, which was held in Williamsburg, Virginia, were as follows: air conditioning policy; anti-lock brake systems; apprentice training; commercial driver's license; coolant maintenance; disposal of tires, batteries, waste oil, antifreeze and mufflers; electronically controlled diesel engines; engine and transmission selection for single axle dump trucks; fuel spill and site cleanup; maintenance, use and testing of special purpose equipment; mechanic training; preventive maintenance; reconditioning used equipment; replacement criteria; specification review; underground storage tank update; and warranty provisions in specifications. The state transportation departments of the following states participated: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
