This paper looks briefly at what the diesel mechanic/technician of the future will need to know in order to correctly service vehicles. On the job training is not good enough even for today's technician. The mechanics/technicians of today must constantly update their skills and knowledge by going to school. Areas where knowledge is required include reading, math and basic electronics.
