TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND ITS TOOLS
Recently, the Federal Highway Administration has increased emphasis on the marketing of new technologies. A seminar is now being develped to delineate marketing principles appropriate for inclusion in public sector operating programs and to help translate principles specific to technology transfer efforts. The article describes essential steps in developing a highway transportation marketing plan, as well as recent technological advances in technology transfer activities, namely, in training, information dissemination, and promotion. These techniques should, however, be applied in the context of an overall marketing strategy.
