DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSIT POLICY IN CHICAGO. 3: 1970 TO DATE
The article discusses the formation of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) to coordinate the transportation services around the Chicago metropolitan area. The purpose of RTA is to provide a consistent level of financial support to a diverse mass transit system, including the Chicago Transit Authority, the suburban railroads and suburban buses in the six counties.
