REGIONAL TRAIN DEVELOPMENT IN SWEDEN
Sweden spends a good deal of money on the development of its regional rail traffic, one of its main goals being to develop an appropriate rail vehicle for the future. The article first decribes the current situation; it then continues with a discussion of the political background; the four major problems identified by the Swedish Transport Research Board are then listed. Finally, the economic aspect of extended regional traffis is discussed.
