SALT BAN CAUSES HEADACHES IN TULSA
In the winter of 1985 to 1986, an elected official banned salt use in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Stockpiles were used up during the previous winter and no new salt was purchased. Only sand was available for use. This article describes the resulting accidents due to sand use, public outcry, arguments against using salt, and the need for effective substitutes for salt.
