EFFECT OF FOOTING SHAPE ON BEHAVIOR OF CANTILEVER RETAINING WALL
This is a discussion of the findings of an investigation of the effect of footing shape on the behavior of cantilever retaining walls. A numerical modeling approach based on the finite element method was used. The computer program used was SSTIPNH. The program can analyze a 2-dimensional solid under plane-strain conditions. The details of the study are described, including the simmulation sequence and the results. The conclusions drawn from the study are presented.
