GEOCOMPOSITE EDGEDRAINS IMPROVE RESPONSE TIME
The article provides a guide to systems design for fast and easy installation of prefabricated edgedrains. The design emphasizes controlling factors. Prefabricated geocomposite drains have been designed for fast and easy installation in narrow trenches beside pavements. Wrapped in geotextile fabric, these materials require no gravel or select backfill, thereby reducing labor and installation cost and increasing the life of the pavement. The article reviews field performance requirements, flow/inlet capacity, and installation considerations.
