PROCEEDINGS: NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON POLYMER MODIFIED BINDERS

In December 1989 a National Workshop on Polymer Modified Binders (PMBs) was held at the Australian Road Research Centre. The objectives of the workshop were to share information, develop guidelines for the selection and use of PMBs and develop a strategy which will result in procedures for the evaluation and testing of PMBs. The following six tasks were addressed during the workshop: Field Uses of PMBs, Properties Required, Field Trial Experience, Current Specifications, Test Methods and finally, the development of an Action Plan for future work. Producers and users demonstrated a unity of purpose that will be translated into action by the formation of working parties with clearly defined outputs. Part 1 of this paper provides summaries of the discussions and findings, and includes an action plan. Part 2 contains a compilation of the papers presented at the workshop. (Author/TRRL)
