PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT EVOLUTION IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORY . 15TH ARRB CONFERENCE, DARWIN, NORTHERN TERRITORY, 26-31 AUGUST 1990; PROCEEDINGS PARTS 1 TO 7

The road network in Australia's Northern Territory is maturing. Demand for holding maintenance and rehabilitation will escalate in future years. The Roads Division of the Department of Transport and Works is addressing these issues by developing an economical Pavement Management System. This paper discusses the present level of development of the system and considers future directions. The Northern Territory approach to Pavement Management Systems has been an incremental one. Full scale implementation on the sealed network occurred in late 1988. Concurrent developments in the organisation should facilitate further improvements to the system. (Author/TRRL)
