A non-linear segmental method of analysis was used in a numerical study of overload, collapse and post-collapse behaviour of a number of prestressed concrete bridges. The purpose of the study was to check the adequacy of the ductility limits in the new draft NAASRA Bridge Design Specification. Realistic, full-scale bridge designs were used as the basis of the study to provide information on non-ductile behaviour and hence to identify desirable ductility limits . (Author/TRRL)
