SYMPOSIUM ON PORTABLE OR TEMPORARY CRUSHING-SIEVING PLANTS. STUDY OF THE EQUIPMENT

COLLOQUE SUR LES INSTALLATIONS MOBILES OU TEMPORAIRES DE CONCASSAGE-CRIBLAGE - ETUDE DES MATERIELS

This report concerns the equipment for portable plants according to the functions they fulfil in the whole system. These functions are defined in relation to the materials treated and their origin: alluvial materials or quarry materials. The main objective is to give data on the equipment, which can be partially or not reutilized according to the nature of the materials. The functions examined are: reception, material feed, pre-sieving, primary crushing and crushing, post-sieving, chipping, grinding, fillerization, sieving, settling, washing, sand treatment and defillerization, drying, prestoring, storing, handling, and recomposition. Mention is made of the problem of the ever increasing production from deposits varying in quality and of the difficulty of producing top quality aggregates. Plants have to gain in importance thus losing some of their mobility. It is concluded that: (1) specific criteria for temporary installations should not be defined, and (2) the quality of the deposit quarried should be taken into account, as low quality can be a handicap from the start even if the installation has been carefully planned. /TRRL/
