This paper discusses a second-order analytical algorithm considering the effect of plasticity and flexibility of the connections. The assumed stress method is used to derive an explicit form of tangent stiffness satisfying joint equilibrium and displacement compatibility. The plastic effect is assumed to be concentrated around the region of plastic hinges and plastic hinges can occur at any location along the length of the members.
