SHAPING THE SOUTH EAST PLANNING STRATEGY. CONSULTATION PAPER

In this report, a view of the state of the region and the policies which should be pursued, is presented as a basis for consultation. Account is taken of the response to an earlier consulation paper entitled: Into the next century. Review of the regional strategy', which was published in 1989. The report is presented in five chapters. The first is a description of the regional context. Chapter two lists the main factors that seem to shape the strategy, and policy and geographical elements of the strategy are set out in chapters three and four respectively. The final chapter deals with the implementation, in particular what needs to be done to give effect to the strategy and by whom. A list of relevant SERPLAN documents is presented in Appendix A.
