It is shown that an electric vehicle (EV) will have an excellent performance by making extensive use of new technologies and new design concepts by computer simulation. In case of a 4 person passenger car, a 390 km range in city drive, 180 km/h maximum velocity and 21 sec. from 0 to 400 m acceleration time will be achieved by using a sodium-sulfur battery whose energy density is 120Wh/kg and weight is 265 kg. An electric motor cycle is developed by adopting the new technologies. A brushless DC motor which uses a rare earth cobalt magnet was set inside the rear wheel to utilize the diredt drive system. The maximum speed is 55 km/h and the range is 56 km in 30 km/h constant speed driving.
