RECONSTRUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS: A TECHNICAL COMPENDIUM. COMPUTER DIMENSIONING OF SKID MARKS FROM PHOTOGRAPHS

Tire marks produced by accident-involved vehicles are often the only source of information on which to base an analysis of vehicle and driver behavior prior to, during, and after impact. When an accident takes place, only photographs may remain from which to get such information. This paper discusses the method by which a mathematical transformation is used to obtain a plan view marking map from the normal perspective photograph.
