KOMPLEKSNA GEOTEHNICKA ISTRAZIVANJA SA KLASIFIKACIJOM STIJENSKIH MASA ZA TUNEL TUHOBIC NA TRASI BUDUCE AUTOCESTE KARLOVAC-RIJEKA

The tuhobic tunnel is planned to be approximately 2100 M long and it is the longest one in a series of 8 tunnels constructed in the gorski kotar region on the future karlovac-rijeka motorway alignment. The paper presents complex geotechnical investigations performed along the tunnel pipe. They consisted of geological, geophysical and soil mechanics investigations that were carried out according to the methodology defined for all tunnels in this area. Rock classification has been performed according to bieniawski for the purpose of tunnel design and its construction. It represents an empirical approach to the construction of tunnels. It also presents dynamic and static constants in particular zones along the tunnel axes as well as other soil parameters in order to enable mathematical and geotechnical modelling.
