In this paper, changes in the dynamic elastic constants of plain concrete beams at different bending fatigue states are investigated by striking and resonance non-destructive techniques in order to explore the possibility of using these constants to evaluate the degree of fatigue damage of concrete and to confirm the fatigue damage theory previously proposed by the first author. An acoustic emission technique was also used to monitor continuously the whole fatigue damage process of plain concrete so that the damage mechanisms can be qualitatively explained.(A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 829348.
