PIEZOCONE MEASUREMENTS WITH FOUR PORE PRESSURE POSITIONS. PENETRATION TESTING IN THE UK. PROCEEDINGS OF THE GEOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE INSTITUTION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS AND HELD IN BIRMINGHAM ON 6-8 JULY 1988

Results are reported of piezocone measurements of tip resistance and pore pressures in four locations. Laboratory and field data are presented. Parameters derived from these results are considered as a function of the over consolidation ratio of the soil. The initial distribution of excess pore pressure before dissipation is also examined and compared with a theoretical prediction. The importance of pore pressure measurement is discussed.(A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 828222.
