THE RELATION BETWEEN RISKS OF NON-COMPLIANCE AND PRODUCTION, SAMPLING AND TESTING VARIATIONS. UNBOUND AGGREGATES IN ROADS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM, UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM, APRIL 11-13, 1989

This paper describes a method which may be used to calculate the risk that material will fail to comply with a specification, using information on the variations that occur in the product itself and on those that occur when sampling and testing the product. The method is of general importance because it can be used to show when sampling and testing variations are likely to affect the cost of the product.(A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 827698.
