AUDITING SAFETY
Article discussing the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) decision to institute changes in their procedures involving motor carrier safety ratings. The changes instituted toward the end of 1988 stipulate that all carriers filing for operating authority after December 7, 1988, to the ICC, must submit a verified statement revealing their current DOT safety rating and the date the rating was "obtained."
