Mini-excavators have become a popular alternative to the tractor-loader-backhoe on construction sites where space is a critical factor. They are well-suited for working next to fences, existing walls, buildings or other types of obstructions that may be encountered in reconstruction or restoration work. Many units come equipped with a dozer blade to backfill their own trench. This article consists of a chart, arranged by manufacturer, that provides the following information for each mini-excavator: model number; operating weight; bucket capacity; net horsepower; maximum digging depth; maximum dump height; reach at ground level; and available options.
