A NEW NATIONAL PRESENCE THE INTERMODAL TRUCKER
This article discusses some of the primary issues of intermodal transportation. In recognition of the increasing importance of intermodalism, the American Trucking Associations (ATA), in 1986, established an ad hoc Intermodal Policy Committee as part of its governing body, the Executive Committee. The Council's primary objective is to assure that the intermodal truck operator is recognized as an equal partner in industry discussions and meetings where intermodal policy issues are considered. Includes issues concerning intermodal truckers, and makes recommendations to improve the status of the intermodal truck operator and enhance intermodalism.
